Special Workshop in Zaartpark

You are warmly invited to join the workshop As dangerous as lawn, as pebbly as grass, by artists C, on Saturday 21 September from 13:00 to 15:00 in Zaartpark, Breda.

From July to September, artist Qiaochu Guo is guest artist at 49m2 in Zaartpark, Breda. To mark the finissage of their residency, they will lead a workshop together with Raffia Li, centring on writing, speaking, listening and bodily movement in relation to the landscape. You’ll be invited to collectively observe the 49m2 space and immerse yourself in it, while developing your own vocabulary. Language, text, the body and sound will be your tools as you explore how your individual resonance connects with the landscape.

About the artists

Qiaochu Guo (they/them), born in Jingmen, China, recently moved to the Netherlands. Their work explores how dominant social structures affect bodily experience. Themes such as alienation, abandonment, exhaustion and illness inform their practice, where the body becomes a site for hacking, disruption, recovery and transformation.

Raffia Li (ta/they) works with poetry in performance, video and installation. They explore language as a physical act, disrupting dominant norms and making space for in-between meanings.
