Walk, marvel and listen | Friday 3 October, 3 p.m., Wilhelminapark, Breda

Everyone walks through Wilhelminapark sometimes – but what if you suddenly hear it whispering? During Bredase Maand van de Geschiedenis, we invite you to join us for a walk and, above all, to listen.

Participation is free; all you need is a smartphone and headphones.

During this afternoon, you can join others on one or two audio walks. The Witte Rook team will help you with any technical questions and will be waiting for you at the starting location with refreshments and a warm welcome.

The sound walks | Vibrant Radio and Losing Sight

There are two sound walks to choose from. Sound artist Paul Devens composed the sound work Vibrant Radio,

which features rustling grass, the hum of electricity and even the sound of water. The park is given a new layer of sounds: recognisable and yet alienating at the same time.

Artist and poet Dorien de Wit guides you through her poetic narrative of voices, memories and perspectives that often remain unexposed. What do you see when you look differently – or listen differently? The walk Uit Zicht Raken (Out of Sight), connects history, ecology and human experience in a sensory route.
