Dorien de Wit creates new sound artwork

New sound artwork in the making
“The park seems like a fixed place in the city, a space with predetermined walking paths that looks the same to everyone. Still, I believe the park is very different for each person—that it is malleable, in thought. For my audio walk, I want to explore the many forms this park takes in the minds of its users and beyond. But what does this park mean to its visitors, and how do they move through it?” — Dorien de Wit
Dorien de Wit is a writer and artist. Commissioned by Witte Rook, she is currently developing a new audio walk for the Wilhelminapark, which will be available to the public in the spring of 2025.
For this work, she is seeking input from local residents and park users, and is drawing inspiration from the original design by landscape architect Leonard Springer.
