49m², Year 10, Summer 2026 | Echo Wang
Summer period | 21 June 2026 to 20 September 2026
From June 21 to September 20, we are hosting Taiwanese transdisciplinary artist Echo Wang. Echo works with drag, ritual, ecology, and technology, using installations to explore how land and digital systems preserve narratives of migration and colonial history.
During this residency, Echo is researching the “Princess of the Eight Treasures,” a Dutch goddess from Taiwanese folklore. An installation made of natural materials is being constructed on the site, alongside the cultivation of sweet potatoes—a crop that symbolizes the colonial history shared by Europe and Taiwan. The project will conclude in September with a communal harvest and a ceremony centered around an earth oven.
