49m², year 5, summer 2021 | Roos Vogels

From 22 June to 21 September, Roos Vogels will be Artist in Residence at the 49 square metre space in Zaartpark in Breda. Roos Vogels is a visual artist. Her work is a combination of art and almost scientific research. Nature is her source of inspiration. In her work, consisting of installations, sculptures, drawings and photographs, she attempts to fathom nature. Transience plays an important role in her work, not only because she uses materials such as branches, leaves and earth. The emphasis in her work shifts from an interest in the beginning of the cycle to the intermediate phase – between the sublime and the dead. With her work, she tries to approach nature in different ways to achieve artistic results, such as observing transformations in the landscape and experimenting with plant growth.
