Autumn PERIOD 2024 WITH Marloes Vreeswijk AS GUEST ARTIST IN THE ZAARTPARK, BREDA
A new season means that a new work period starts for a new guest artist at the 49m2 in the Zaartpark in Breda. Marloes Vreeswijk is a visual artist. She graduated in 2019 from St. Joost in the direction of autonomous arts, lives and works in ‘s-Hertogenbosch and has a studio at Willem Twee Ateliers in ‘s-Hertogenbosch.
In her work she questions the context, between herself and her environment. She investigates what space she can take up and how she can fill it in on her own terms. It is a constant process in which she reflects on her position as an artist and as a citizen, and how these two relate to each other. As a citizen she often experiences criticism of society, while as an artist she uses this friction as a starting point for her work. She searches for a balance between her own way of thinking and the expectations from outside.
During this work period at 49m2, she investigates what can happen when she works in a space where no rules apply at all. With the starting points: How do I move in space and how does this influence my work? she starts her journey of discovery, in which both the Zaartpark and the autumn season will play a role.
